EUREKA SPRINGS, AR — Work has begun on an extensive renovation project for the historic Eureka Springs, AR Post Office. The office is expected to remain in full operation during the renovation project, which is tentatively scheduled for completion by September 2018.
The initial phase of the renovation project will include plaster repairs, interior and exterior painting/waterproofing, and baluster installation. This will be followed by a full roof replacement. All repairs will meet historic preservation requirements.
The Post Office building has been at its present 101 Spring St. location since 1918, with the exception of a temporary six-month relocation to 9 N Main St. in 1971, while the building was being expanded to about twice its original size.
The Postal Service regrets any inconvenience to its customers that may be caused by the renovation project. Customers can contact the local postmaster, or they may call 1-800-ASK-USPS or go to the Postal Service’s Website www.usps.com with any questions, comments or concerns they may have.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
