MIDWAY, AR – Last Friday morning, a vandalism incident resulted in the temporary suspension of operations at the Midway Post Office, located at 323 Highway 178 W, Midway, AR 72651.  Initially, the office’s retail window and PO Box operations were moved to the nearby Mountain Home Post Office while an assessment of the damages was being made.

Starting today, June 27, a mobile Post Office retail unit will be located in the parking lot of the Midway Post Office to better serve our Midway customers.   PO Box customers with ZIP Code 72651 will now be able to pick up their mail from this location and limited retail window services will also be provided by the mobile postal unit during normal business hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30 to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.; and closed Sunday.

Until further notice, operations will remain suspended in the Midway Post Office building until repairs can be made to ensure the safety of customers and employees.

Like most offices across the state, the temporary Post Office operation will be closed Wednesday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day and there will be no retail service or regular mail delivery provided on the holiday.

Post Office operations at the temporary location will resume on Thursday, July 5.

Customers can go online, to www.usps.com, to find the nearest alternate location for purchasing Postal products and services, or may call the Postal Service's toll-free number 800-ASK-USPS (800-275-8777) or the TTY number 877-TTY-2HLP (877-889-2457) for help with any postal questions they may have.

The Post Office is always open at www.usps.com

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
