Following Monday’s biggest mailing day of the year for the U.S. Postal Service, today and tomorrow (Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 17 & 18) are expected to be the busiest delivery days of the year.

But that doesn’t mean customers have run out of time to ship their gifts and greetings to loved ones.

In response to postal customers’ overwhelmingly positive response last Sunday, more Phoenix area Post Offices will provide postal customers convenient holiday retail hours this Sunday, Dec. 21.

A total of 11 Valley Postal facilities will offer retail hours this Sunday.

While the Postal Service recommends getting Priority Mail packages and First-Class letters and cards in the mail by Saturday, Dec. 20, to reach addressees nationwide in time for the Christmas Day holiday, the Sunday retail hours offer convenience for customers who need the weekend to finish their holiday shopping and shipping. Customers may ship packages via Priority Mail Express through Tuesday, Dec. 23, to get last-minute gifts delivered by Christmas Day.

Also, special pickups will be made from blue USPS collection boxes outside Post Offices throughout the Phoenix metro area on Sunday for early processing. Valley postal customers are encouraged to deposit their holiday cards and letters in blue collection boxes outside Post Office locations by 3 p.m. this Sunday for pickup that afternoon. Mail can also be dropped off Sunday inside metro area Post Offices.

“Getting the mail to us early in the day Sunday will speed the processing and delivery of Phoenix metro area customers’ holiday mail,” Phoenix Postmaster Humberto Trujillo said.

In addition, there will be delivery of packages in the metro area on Sunday to help get holiday gifts to their recipients promptly.

NUMBER Valley Post Office locations will offer full retail services on Sunday, Dec. 21:
