Scott Renteria to be Sworn in as 29th Postmaster Of Stockton

STOCKTON, CA—Scott Renteria will be sworn in as the new Stockton Postmaster on Friday, August 21, 2009, 11:00 a.m., at the Stockton Main Post Office, 4245 West Lane, Stockton CA 95208. The public is invited as Post Office Operations Manager Bobbi Riley administers the oath of office.

Renteria began his career with the United States Postal Service in 1986 as a letter carrier at the Land Park Post Office in Sacramento. He quickly progressed to management as Customer Service Supervisor in the same Post Office. He advanced to higher management positions at the Foothill Farms and Land Park Post Offices, and eventually as the second in command for the Sacramento Post Office as the Customer Service Operations Manager, the position he held before being selected as the Stockton Postmaster.

“It is an honor to serve the people of Stockton as its 29th Postmaster, following in the proud tradition of Postmasters before me,” said Renteria. “I look forward to making the Postal Service a business partner within the community and providing quality service to all our customers.”

Renteria, 49, and his wife, Dora, have three children, Scott Jr., 24, Marisa, 23, and Anisa, 15, and one grandson, Aiden Scott, 9 months. They reside in Elk Grove. Renteria is a member of the Megami Golf Club, and has joined the Stockton Chamber of Commerce. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Sacramento State University.

As Stockton Postmaster, Renteria manages 379 employees and is responsible for 111,705 deliveries on 187 city routes, 15,085 rural deliveries on 17 rural routes, and 10,070 P.O. Boxes. The Stockton Post Office handles daily mail volume of 416,000 pieces.
