SAN FRANCISCO—People who patronize DHK Inc., 837 Clement St., San Francisco can now add U.S. Postal Service products and services to their shopping list. On Thursday, Oct. 1, at 11 a.m., DHK Inc. will celebrate the grand opening of its new Contract Postal Unit or CPU.

“We’re pleased to offer our customers improved access to Postal services,” said Lani Meneses, manager of Customer Relations for the Postal Service’s San Francisco District. “The opening of the DHK Inc. CPU offers a convenient location to perform just about every transaction you would at the Post Office.”

The CPU provides an array of postage, products and services, such as domestic and international Express and Priority Mail, stamped envelopes and postal cards, and special services such as Certified Mail, Return Receipt, Insurance, Registered Mail, Delivery Confirmation and Signature Confirmation. “The good news is there is no extra charge for all this convenience,” Meneses said.

“The Postal Service has been encouraging its customers to use alternative access, such as USPS.com, Click-N-Ship and Free Package Pickup,” said Meneses. “But sometimes you have to visit the Post Office, and the new DHK Inc. CPU offers a convenient way to do that.”

The CPU is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 149 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes, six days a week. It has 34,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services, not tax dollars, to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail.
