Celebrate Passport Day in the USA

Postal Service to hold passport outreach events on March 27

CHINO, CA — The U. S. Postal Service (USPS) is joining the U.S. Department of State in observing Passport Day in the USA 2010, a national passport acceptance and outreach event. USPS will be hosting Passport Fairs at select San Bernardino County Post Offices on Saturday, March 27, 2010, to provide passport information to U.S. citizens, and to accept passport applications and take passport photos.

U.S. citizens must present a valid passport book when entering or re-entering the United States by air. U.S. citizens entering the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda at land borders and sea ports of entry must present a passport book, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the U.S. government.

Information on the cost and how to apply for a U.S. passport is available at travel.state.gov. U.S. citizens may obtain passport information in English and Spanish by phone, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778. Passport Information is also available at usps.com/passport.

The Department of State has proposed new fees for the U.S. Passport Book, U.S. Passport Card and other services, although at this time no date has been determined for implementation of a fee increase. Plan ahead and get your travel documents now!
