BURBANK, CA — On May 22, 2010, Magnolia Park Station, located at 3810 Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, will consolidate its operations into the Burbank Post Office, 2140 N. Hollywood Way. Mail will be moved from the 776 Post Office Boxes at Magnolia Park after close of business on May 21, and be available for customers at the Burbank Post Office on Saturday, May 22.
The two employees currently at Magnolia Park will transfer to Burbank Post Office. The two locations are approximately 1.5 miles apart. The consolidation is being done to reduce operating costs and operate more efficiently. Magnolia Park Station was a leased facility and the Postal Service owns the Burbank Post Office property.
“We will strive to continue to provide Magnolia Park customers excellent service,” said Burbank Postmaster Ann Chapman. “The Burbank Post Office offers longer retail hours six days a week ― Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.”
The Burbank Post Office also has a large customer parking lot, where Magnolia Park did not have a parking lot.
“We are also moving the Automated Postal Center (APC) from Magnolia Park to Burbank,” added Chapman. “So, combined with the APC we have at Burbank already, there are now two self-service APCs providing after-hour stamp sales and package mailing to our customers, twenty four hours a day.”

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no direct support from taxpayers. With 36,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, the Postal Service relies on the sale of postage, products and services to pay for operating expenses. Named the Most Trusted Government Agency five consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $68 billion and delivers nearly half the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 28th in the 2009 Fortune 500.
