Free ‘Grow Your Business’ Seminars in San Gabriel Valley

Postal Service reaches out to small and medium businesses

August 29, 2011

SAN GABRIEL VALLEY, CA — Local Post Offices are reaching out to small- and medium-size businesses in the San Gabriel Valley to educate them on the array of U.S. Postal Service products and services available during “Grow Your Business Days” during the month of September. These free seminars give local merchants an opportunity to understand how to easily and affordably advertise their company and also discover the many benefits of shipping with the Postal Service.

For example, the Postal Service has opened up a whole new way for businesses to contact local markets with business messages quickly, easily, and cost-effectively. Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) provides a reach unparalleled by any other method to build more traffic and find new customers.

The EDDM Retail option (for mailings of 5,000 pieces or less with some restrictions) is perfect for businesses that have not tried Direct Mail and want to benefit from its effectiveness. Now the “butcher, baker and pizza pie maker” can save time on mail preparation, and save costs, with no permit fees or mailing list needed. Visit uspseverydoor.com for more information on EDDM and EDDM Retail.

With the number of consumers shopping online steadily growing, there are a lot of opportunities for local online sellers. But over-paying on shipping costs can cut into profits. And, for inexperienced online merchants, shipping sometimes can seem complicated.

The Postal Service has seminars that explain economical and simpler ways to ship items sold online to buyers. They can find out about Priority Mail Flat-Rate shipping rates, how to print address labels and download postage on their computer, order free eco-friendly envelopes and boxes, schedule free Package Pickups, and other helpful services.

Businesses in the San Gabriel Valley can learn more by joining the Postal Service at one of the locations listed below for a no-cost Grow Your Business Days seminar. All EDDM seminars take place at 1 p.m., and all Online Shipping seminars take place at 2 p.m., on the date indicated.
