Ronda Salas to be Sworn in as Turlock Postmaster

TURLOCK, CA — Ronda Salas will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1871 when Patterson C. Lander was the first Turlock Postmaster. On Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., Salas will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office at the Turlock Post Office located at 555 E. Main St, Turlock CA 95380. The oath of office will be administered by Manager of Post Office Operations Bobbi Riley.

Salas, 48, began her U.S. Postal Service career as a relief rural letter carrier in 1982 in Denair, CA. Salas has served in various functions throughout her postal carrier, from city letter carrier, maintenance, acting supervisor to supervisor of customer service.

“I take great pride in contributing to the Postal Service and to my community,” said Salas. “My goal is to ensure my employees continue to provide quality service to the community and to provide a healthy work environment for my employees.”

Salas volunteers her time with youth baseball and football. She enjoys playing with her grandchildren and taking motorcycle trips with her husband, Tony. They have two daughters, Sara, 20, Stephanie, 25, and two grandchildren, Aaliyah, 5, Adam, 3. They reside in Oakdale.

As Turlock Postmaster, Salas oversees 84 employees who process and deliver daily mail volume of 68,634 pieces to 20,769 delivery points (addresses), 2,304 Post Office boxes, 30 city routes, 12 rural routes.
