Postal Service Plans Consolidation of La Sierra Finance Station

Consolidation With Arlington Station Effective December 3

October 31, 2011

RIVERSIDE, CA — Continuing with its nationwide effort to increase efficiencies and reduce costs, the U.S. Postal Service today announced the consolidation of the La Sierra Finance Station, 11134 Pierce Place, Riverside CA 92505 with the Arlington Station located at 10275 Hole Street, Riverside CA 92503. The last day for retail services at the La Sierra Finance Station will be Dec. 2, 2011.

“In light of historic declines in mail volume and changing customer mailing preferences, the Postal Service is looking at every aspect of our business to reduce over-capacity in retail and delivery operations while maintaining record service levels. Every effort is being made to improve and expand access to postal services at locations that are most convenient to our customers,” said Dallas W. Keck, San Diego District Manager.

The following Postal Service facilities located less than five miles of La Sierra Finance Station are available for retail services:

  • Arlington Station, 10275 Hole Street, Riverside CA 92503
  • Hardman Station, 5172 Arlington Avenue, Riverside CA 92504

There are nearly 32,000 traditional Postal Service retail locations around the country. However, customer needs are changing dramatically. Many receive and pay their bills online and communicate by email and text message. They demand easier, more convenient access to products and services when and where they want them — online, on smart phones and at stores where they shop.

Customers can find many locations nearby to purchase postal services by visiting an interactive map at www.uspseverywhere.com and simply typing in a ZIP Code. Using the simple icon guide designating stamps, shipping and packaging, PO Boxes and other services, customers can easily navigate to retail outlets, grocery stores, Self-Service Ship and Mail Centers and Post Offices, among other options.

In Riverside, for example, there are over 40 Approved Postal Provider locations.
