Approved Postal Providers

There are over 800 retail locations that sell stamps and offer other postal services in the San Diego ZIP Code areas 919 through 921. These are private businesses that sell postal products and services at the same price as the Post Office – no mark up!

ATMs

Your nearest access point for postage stamps may be one of the thousands of bank automated teller machines (ATMs) nationwide that stand ready to serve as your personal stamp machine.

Automated Postal Centers (APCs)

APCs are self-service kiosks that can provide 80 percent of the transactions available at the service counter. APCs handle transactions in English or Spanish and accept major credit and debit cards.

APCs dispense First-Class Mail, Priority Mail, Parcel Post, and Express Mail postage in any denomination, provide mailing information, including ZIP Code lookup; weigh and price envelopes and parcels up to 70 pounds; prepare Express Mail forms and Certified Mail return receipts; and other Delivery Confirmation service.

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only service that reaches every address in the nation, 150 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses, and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With 32,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $67 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world’s mail. If it were a private sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 29th in the 2010 Fortune 500. Black Enterprise and Hispanic Business magazines ranked the Postal Service as a leader in workforce diversity. The Postal Service has been named the most Trusted Government Agency six consecutive years and the sixth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
