Most Sierra Coastal District Post Offices Open on Christmas and New Year’s Eve

Some Post Offices Will be Closed or Closing Early

SANTA CLARITA, CA — Most Sierra Coastal Postal District Post Offices will be open Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24 and New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2011, but some will either be closed or shorten retail lobby hours. Mail delivery on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31 is unaffected by the change. Revised hours are posted at each Post Office and commercial customers are asked to check with their Bulk Mail Acceptance Unit for Dec. 24 hours of operation.

Customers may call 1-800-ASK-USPS or visit usps.com for information about specific Post Offices. In addition, mail should be deposited into blue collection mailboxes by noon for early pick-up on Dec. 24.

All Post Offices will be closed Sunday, Dec. 25 and Monday, Dec. 26, and Sunday, Jan. 1 and Monday, Jan. 2. Express Mail only will be delivered on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in most major metropolitan areas. All Post Offices will be open regular hours on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 and Jan. 3, 2012, and regular mail delivery will resume.

The Sierra Coastal Postal District encompasses the Bakersfield, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Pasadena, Kern County and Santa Clarita areas.
