PINOLE, CA — Jennifer Nicklas will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1878 when Bernardo Fernandez was appointed Pinole Postmaster. On Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at 10:00 am, Nicklas will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office at the Pinole Post Office located at 2101 Pear Street, Pinole, CA 94564. The oath of office will be administered by Manager Post Office Operations Jack Boster.
Nicklas began her U.S. Postal Service career as a casual clerk in Concord in 1997. She was selected to her first management position in 2002 as a supervisor of customer service. This led to other managerial assignments in Pittsburg in 2004. She was the Officer-in-Charge at Pittsburg prior to being selected as the Pinole Postmaster.
“As the Postmaster of Pinole, I want to be a premier provider of service to the Pinole community while providing a safe work environment for all employees,” said Nicklas.
Nicklas resides in Pittsburg, with her husband Robert and their son, Robert, 2. She enjoys spending time with her family.
As Pinole Postmaster, Nicklas oversees 27 employees who process and deliver daily mail volume of more than 33,000 pieces to 7,652 delivery points (addresses), 15 city delivery routes and 923 Post Office Boxes, six days a week.
