CAMPBELL, CA — Ramon C. Sanchez will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1885 when Benjamin Campbell was appointed Campbell Postmaster. On Thursday, March 15, 2012, 10:00 am, Ramon will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office at the Campbell Post Office located at 500 W. Hamilton Avenue Campbell, CA 95008. The oath of office will be administered by Manager Post Office Operations Darrell Stoke.
Sanchez grew up in San Pablo, Philippines. He received a BS Degree in Agriculture in 1979 from the University of the Philippines. After graduation, he worked as a Research and Development Officer at Pacific Seeds in the Philippines. He came to the United States in March 1984 to join his family.
Sanchez began his Postal Service career as a part-time flexible letter carrier in 1987 in the former San Jose District. In 1991, he was selected supervisor of customer service, and was the Officer in Charge of Campbell prior to being selected as Campbell Postmaster.
“As the Postmaster of Campbell, I will provide a clean and safe environment for my employees as well as maintain the high level of service that the Campbell community gets and deserves,” said Sanchez. “As postmaster, I will work to become more involved with my employees and the Campbell community.”
Sanchez resides in Campbell. He enjoys scuba diving, underwater photography, cooking, gardening, and traveling the Bay-Area back roads.
As Campbell Postmaster, Sanchez oversees 68 employees who process and deliver daily mail volume of more than 85,000 pieces to 22,132 delivery points (addresses), 33 city delivery routes and one auxiliary route and 3,160 Post Office boxes, six days a week.
