ANDERSON, CA — Scott Wayman will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1878 when Thomas Friedman was appointed Anderson Postmaster. On Friday, March 16, 2012, 11:00 am, Wayman will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office at the Anderson Post Office located at 2141 Ferry Street Anderson, CA 96007. The oath of office will be administered by Manager Post Office Operations Lisa Giannetta.
Wayman began his Postal Service career as a part-time flexible city carrier at the Redding Downtown Station in 1999. He was selected to his first management position in 2002 as a supervisor of customer service. This led to other Officer in Charge assignments in the 960 ZIP Code area that includes Shasta Lake, Cottonwood, and Los Molinos. He was a supervisor at the Redding Downtown Post Office prior to being selected as the Anderson Postmaster.
“As the Postmaster of Anderson, I want our customers to understand by word and deed the meaning of serving the public and treating people well,” said Wayman.
Wayman resides in Anderson, with his wife Ashley and their son Alex, 9, and their daughter Tatum, 7. He enjoys hunting and fishing.
As Anderson Postmaster, Wayman oversees 28 employees who process and deliver daily mail volume of more than 31,800 pieces to 10,100 delivery points (addresses), 6 city delivery routes, 8 rural routes, and 1,500 Post Office boxes, six days a week.
