NEWPORT BEACH, CA — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) today recognized Glidewell Laboratories with a Mail Technology Award for the company’s commitment to a successful business partnership with the Postal Service. A select group of postal customers is acknowledged and recognized for their contributions to the continued success of the mailing industry each year at the National Postal Forum.
The Mail Technology Award, one of three “best in class” awards presented annually at the Forum, recognizes customers who are one of the first to embrace new technologies while working to improve their operations and provide customers with increased value and results.
Glidewell Laboratories, based in Newport Beach, CA, has provided high quality dental lab products and services to dental professionals worldwide since 1970. The lab specializes in crown and bridge, full and partial dentures, dental implants and prosthetic components.
Glidewell Laboratories worked with the Postal Service to create an innovative and easy-to-use return program with the USPS Scan Based Payment System. Qualifying for cubic pricing, with no weighing required, this system provides an operationally efficient method for both the Postal Service and Glidewell Laboratories. Shipping labels are sent by Glidewell laboratories to their dentists who use the labels to return dental molds. The labels are scanned by USPS when used and Glidewell charged the postage.
This system has provided Glidewell Laboratories cost savings while offering their clients convenience and ease-of-use. It also offers reliable transit times that Glidewell’s dentists and their patients can count on.
“We are pleased to recognize and honor Glidewell Laboratories for their innovation, creativity and leadership,” said Santa Ana District Manager Gerard Ahern. “They have produced winning business results that benefit both their company and the Postal Service.”
The National Postal Forum is the mailing industry’s largest trade show and networking event for industry professionals. Since 1968, it has provided business mailers with ongoing training and education, and helped them keep pace with the mailing industry’s rapid progress. Held once a year in the spring, the Forum is a combination educational conference/trade show offering a wide range of opportunities for attendees. For more information, visit www.npf.org.# # #
