LODI, CA—Sukhdev Singh Dhamiwill follow a proud tradition dating back to 1933 when Emerson B. Herrick was appointed Lodi Postmaster. On Friday, April 13, 2012, at noon, Dhami will raise his right hand to take the official oath of office at the Lodi Post Office located at 120 South School Street Lodi, CA 95240. The oath of office will be administered by Post Office Operations Manager Bobbi Riley.
Dhami began his Postal Service career as a part-time flexible clerk in 1997 in the Sacramento District. He was selected to his first management position in 2002 as a supervisor of customer service. This led to other managerial assignments at Modesto’s Paradise Station and Main Post Office. He was the Officer-in-Charge at the Lathrop Post Office prior to being selected as the Lodi Postmaster.
“As the Postmaster of Lodi, I will enhance the image and business of the Post Office,” said Dhami.
Dhami resides in Modesto with his wife, Simar Kaur, and their son, Herman, 15. He enjoys painting and gardening.
As Lodi Postmaster, Dhami oversees 94 employees who process and deliver a daily mail volume of more than 85,000 pieces to 25,145 delivery points (addresses), 43 city routes, eight rural routes and 1,942 Post Office Boxes, six days a week.
