SAN RAFAEL, CA — Last week, in a small ceremony attended by colleagues and family, Raj Ghoman officially became the 14th postmaster of San Rafael after being sworn in by Manager of Post Office Operations Tony Carvelli. Ghoman was appointed to the position in August of last year.
Following the ceremony, Ghoman said, “My goal is to continue to provide efficient and reliable service to the residents of San Rafael.” He added, “I also want to make San Rafael a great place to work for our dedicated San Rafael Post Office employees.”
Ghoman joined the Postal Service as a letter carrier in Santa Clara in 2003. He quickly moved up the ranks, most recently acting as postmaster in Milpitas before arriving in San Rafael.
Ghoman is responsible for over 42,600 deliveries. With 179 employees he serves 95 carrier routes and 4,300 P.O. Boxes in four stations including the Civic Center, Mission Rafael, Terra Linda and the Kentfield Branch.
