Terry Jackson to be Sworn in as Soquel Postmaster

SOQUEL, CA — Terry J. Jackson will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1857 when Edward Porter was appointed the first Soquel Postmaster. On Friday, March 1, 2013, 10:00 am, Jackson will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office at the Soquel Post Office, 4768 Soquel Drive, Soquel, CA 95073. The oath of office will be administered by Manager Post Office Operations Darrell Stoke.

Jackson began her postal career as a postmaster relief in 1985 in the San Jose District. She held two other Postmaster positions, San Lucas, CA in 1993, and Jolon, CA, 2004, the position she held prior to being selected as the Soquel Postmaster.

“As the Postmaster of Soquel, I want to provide a safe and healthy work environment for my employees and provide great customer service for the community of Soquel,” said Jackson.

Jackson, 63, has two daughters and two sons, Michelle, 45, Jacob, 38, Marla, 35 and Derek, 34. Jackson resides in King City. She enjoys walking, hiking, swimming, reading, and going to the movies.

As Soquel Postmaster, Jackson oversees three employees who process and deliver a daily mail volume of more than 2,396 pieces to 1,600 Post Office boxes, six days a week.
