SAN LEANDRO, CA —Dina Guadalupe Flotte will follow a proud tradition dating back to 1938 when Michael E. Neish was appointed the first San Leandro Postmaster. On Friday, March 8, 2013, 10 a.m., Flotte will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office at the San Leandro Post Office, 1777 Abram Court, San Leandro, CA. 94577. The oath of office will be administered by Manager Post Office Operations Cedric Brown.
Flotte began her postal career as a part time flexible distribution clerk in 1984 in Oakland. She was selected to her first management position in 1989 as Supervisor Mail Processing at the Hayward Post Office. This led to other managerial assignments as Delivery Point Sequencing coordinator, and various higher level details as Manager Customer Service at the San Leandro Post Office, Airport Station, and Emeryville Post Office. She was the Office-in-Charge of San Leandro Post Office prior to being selected as the San Leandro Postmaster.
“As the Postmaster of San Leandro, I’m committed to serving the community,” said Flotte. “I will connect with my customers and the communities of San Leandro and San Lorenzo.”
Flotte resides in Dublin, and has two children, Alex, 32, and Vanessa, 30. She enjoys golf, basketball, and soccer. She holds a Masters Degree in Business.
As San Leandro Postmaster, Flotte oversees 163 employees who process and deliver a daily mail volume of more than 231,688 pieces to 54,642 delivery points (addresses), 108 city routes, and 2,301 Post Office boxes, six days a week.
