DANA POINT, CA — The U.S. Postal Service has approved the proposed relocation of the Dana Point Post Office, located at 24551 Del Prado, to an undetermined location within the city of Dana Point and as close to the current site as possible. An implementation date has not been determined.

This decision may be appealed in writing. An appeal must be postmarked by May 17, 2013, and mailed to:

Vice President, Facilities
Facilities Implementation
1300 Evans Ave. Ste. 200
San Francisco CA 94188-0200

A public meeting was held on April 9, 2013, in the City Council Chambers at Dana Point City Hall, 33282 Golden Lantern, and a written comment period took place from March 22, 2013, through April 24, 2013. All community input received was sent for consideration to USPS Headquarters in Washington D.C., where the decision to move forward was made.

This proposed relocation will be contingent upon the Postal Service securing a suitable location of approximately 11,000 square feet that would meet its operational needs.

The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars to fund its operations and facilities.
