LOTUS, CA — On Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, Lisa Craviotto will follow a proud tradition dating back to Jan. 6, 1881, when the first local Post Office was operated out of a general store and the storekeeper, Mr. Gallaner, served as the first Lotus Postmaster. In an 11:00 a.m. ceremony, Craviotto will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as Postmaster at the Lotus Post Office, 7310 State Highway 49, Lotus CA 95651. Post Office Operations Manager Jagdeep Grewal will administer the oath of office.

Craviotto started her U.S. Postal Service career as the Postmaster Relief at the Lotus Post Office from 2007 to 2008, and she served as the officer-in-charge of that office and the Coloma Post Office from 2009 to 2013. She was the Postmaster of Coloma prior to being selected as the Lotus Postmaster.

“As Postmaster, my goal is to promote a positive, viable Postal Service now and into the future,” said Craviotto.

Craviotto, 25, has one daughter, Olivia, 2, and resides in Cool, CA. She enjoys knitting baby shoes, reading, gardening, traveling, and being a good mother to her daughter. She graduated from Golden Sierra High School, class of 2006. Craviotto plans to do volunteer work as she did as Coloma Postmaster, when she volunteered her time with “Christmas in Coloma” and organized rafting trips.

As Lotus Postmaster, Craviotto oversees three employees who process and deliver daily mail volume of more than 1,673 pieces on one contract delivery service and to 304 Post Office Boxes.
