MARINA, CA — Seniors are the easiest targets for mail fraud schemes, and Marina Postmaster Philip Tantillo plans to do something about it. On Tuesday, September 17, 2013, he will host a Senior Summit on Mail Fraud from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the Rocky Han Community Center, 211 Hillcrest Ave., Marina CA 93933.
Joining Tantillo will be Postal Inspector Jason Crowe, Paul Moreno of Stordok Shredding and local Marina fire and police personnel. Seniors will be given critical information on mail fraud, lottery scams, home mail box and collection box security, document shredding and personal safety and awareness.
“We want our seniors to be able to protect themselves with the right information,” said Tantillo. “And the best source of that information is from the people dedicated to ensure the sanctity of the mail and those sworn to protect and serve.”
The event is open to all seniors in Marina and surrounding areas. Stordok Shredding is offering to shred one box of documents at no charge for those who attend.
