Dutch Flat Trading Post Village Post Office

DUTCH FLAT, CA — After 16 years of business, the Dutch Flat Trading Post will now become a Village Post Office (VPO). Dutch Flat Trading Post owner Abe Khamis will join Barbara Plunkett, the Sacramento postal district manager, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at 32795 Main Street, Dutch Flat, CA 95714.

Located in the foothills about 30 miles northeast of Auburn, CA, along Interstate 80, the Dutch Flat Trading Post VPO will offer Forever  Stamps, prepaid packages and Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes and envelopes. It is open 365 days a year from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

“From our very beginning, it was the village post offices that connected our 13 original colonies,” said Plunkett. “The only thing that has changed since then is the number of villages we now serve across America. Clearly, it does take a Post Office to serve all Villages.”

Dutch Flat Trading Post is near all mountain recreation and a short distance to the snow, water skiing, fishing, biking, kayaking and gold panning.  The Dutch Flat Trading Post is a great place to shop for groceries, cold drinks, video rentals and snacks while driving through the Sierra Nevada Mountains.   For vacationers and locals alike, the Dutch Flat Village Post Office is the perfect place to mail your letters, packages, memorable photos and postcards.

The great advantage of having a VPO in an established business is the convenient longer hours and days of operation, giving customers alternative access to postal products and services used most often while they shop.
