VALLEJO, CA — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced today that it has approved the relocation of the Vallejo Post Office, located at 485 Santa Clara Street, to a yet-to-be-determined location as close to the current site as possible.
USPS plans to terminate the lease on Santa Clara Street after operations are relocated. A date for the move has not been established at this time. There will be no change in ZIP Code, and the goal is to retain all Post Office Box numbers.
Postal Service representatives held a community meeting on Sept. 12, 2013, in the Joseph Room at the John F. Kennedy Library in Vallejo that included a public comment period through Sept. 27, 2013. The relocation proposal and all public input received were then forwarded to USPS Headquarters in Washington, D.C., where the final decision was made.
This decision may be appealed in writing. An appeal must be postmarked by Oct. 30, 2013, and mailed to:
