SANTA CRUZ — A public meeting will be held to explain and hear comments on a proposal to relocate the East Santa Cruz Post Office. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at the Branciforte Middle School located at 315 Poplar Avenue, Santa Cruz, CA 95062.
The Postal Service is losing its lease for the East Santa Cruz Post Office located at 120 Morrissey Boulevard in Santa Cruz. Postal Service officials will be discussing plans for relocation to a yet-to-be-determined location as close to the current site as possible.
There will be no change to ZIP Codes, and the Postal Service’s goal is to keep the Post Office Box numbers the same. Retail services and Business Mail hours will remain the same.
Customer input on this proposed relocation is welcome. Written comments are being accepted through April 23, 2014. Please submit written comments to:

A self-supporting government enterprise, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation: 152 million residences, businesses and Post Office Boxes. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. With more than 31,000 retail locations and the most frequently visited website in the federal government, usps.com, the Postal Service has annual revenue of more than $65 billion and delivers nearly 40 percent of the world's mail. If it were a private-sector company, the U.S. Postal Service would rank 42nd in the 2012 Fortune 500. The Postal Service has been named the Most Trusted Government Agency for seven years and the fourth Most Trusted Business in the nation by the Ponemon Institute.
