FAIR OAKS, CA — Hazel Ridge Market, owned and operated by Govinda Adhikari, will be the site of the first Village Post Office in Fair Oaks, CA. The Fair Oaks Village Post Office will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 9, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. at 4313 Hazel Ave., Fair Oaks CA 95628.

Adhikari has owned Hazel Ridge Market for two years and is following the path cousins took earlier this year. Cousin Mahendra Bhandari opened the Elverta VPO at the Elverta Market in Elverta, CA, and cousin Mike Adhikari opened the Sacramento VPO at the Fast N’ Easy Market on El Camino Avenue in February 2014. The cousins have a strong sense of family and aim to provide their customers with good customer service. Adhikari believes his market will provide accessibility, flexibility and convenience to his customers and the community by becoming a Village Post Office. 

Fair Oaks is a mix of suburban and semi-rural neighborhoods. Fair Oaks’ town center is known as Fair Oaks Village and has many unique shops and attractions. Plaza Park and Village Park host many activities in the spring and summer months. With the opening of the Fair Oaks VPO, tourists and locals will have another location to buy forever stamps and send Priority Mail packages filled with souvenirs, photos and memories.

VPOs are usually located in established businesses, giving them the added retail advantage of providing customers convenient access to the U.S. Postal Service products and services used most often by consumers.
