POMONA, CA ― Residents in Pomona and surrounding areas are invited to attend a grand opening celebration for Jimenez Market’s Village Post Office at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28. Jimenez Market is located at 1670 Indian Hill Boulevard. A ribbon cutting will take place and refreshments served.

As a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) Village Post Office (VPO), Jimenez Market adds the two most frequently purchased postal products and services ― Forever stamps and Priority Mail Flat Rate products ― to its variety of offerings. Their VPO will be open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., providing local residents expanded hours to buy postage stamps and ship packages.

VPOs are a part of the network of outlets owned and operated by third parties to complement the Postal Service’s own network of retail Post Offices. This network, which includes Contract Postal Units, Approved Shippers and Stamps on Consignment locations, enables USPS to efficiently expand the availability of its services at convenient locations that customers already frequent.

“This is good news for our mutual customers,” said Pomona Officer-in-Charge Frank Malone. "Jimenez Market is offering their customers a one-stop shopping experience where they can buy stamps and ship prepaid Priority Mail Flat Rate boxes at the same place they already purchase groceries and other items. By expanding access to postal products and services, Jimenez Market should see increased customer visits and loyalty.”

There are over 600 Village Post Offices located in a wide variety of businesses across the country.
