SALINAS, CA — When customers go in for car or rental insurance, or to get legal matters notarized, they can now make postal transactions at Amezcua Insurance Services, 7 N. Hebbron Ave., Salinas CA 93905. To celebrate the occasion, there will be a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, July 25, at noon.
“Amezcua Insurance Services is excited to offer the Village Post Office services in our various communities,” said office manager Angie Hernandez. “Offering these services to our clients will allow us to complete our current services by allowing the convenience to have their documents mailed out from our site. The VPO will enhance our complete package services and serve the needs of our clients.”
Amezcua Insurance Services has been a family owned business, serving the Salinas area Hispanic community for more than 40 years. Adding U.S. Postal Service products and services, like Forever stamps, mailing prepaid packages and getting free Priority Mail Flat-Rate package supplies, is a bonus for customers since the business is a Bill Payment Center, making it convenient for customers to mail their bills, notarized documents, taxes and insurance papers. The office is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed on holidays.
Bay-Valley Postal District Manager Mark Martinez believes that a partnership with a local business is beneficial for the Salinas community and provides another access for customers to buy postage and drop off their mailings.
VPOs are usually located in established businesses, giving them the added advantage of providing customers convenient access to the U.S. Postal Service products and services used most often by consumers.
The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
