EL SEGUNDO, CA — The El Segundo Post Office will reopen at 2130 E. Mariposa Avenue at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, 2014. Service at the facility, which provided local retail service and housed delivery operations for both the El Segundo and Manhattan Beach communities, had been suspended on Feb. 6, 2014, after a water main running under the building burst, damaging the foundation of the building. Postal operations were relocated to other nearby facilities in order to maintain service while the building was repaired.
El Segundo P.O. Box service had been moved to the Manhattan Beach Post Office at 1007 N. Sepulveda Blvd. The latest El Segundo P.O. Box customers can pick up their mail at that location will be Friday, Aug. 15 before 10:00 a.m. After that time, P.O. Box mail will not be available while the relocation takes place over the weekend. El Segundo P.O. Box mail will be available at 2130 E. Mariposa Avenue on Monday, Aug. 18 at 8:30 a.m.
Retail hours at the El Segundo Post Office will remain the same — Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., closed on Saturday and Sunday.
Bulk Business Mail acceptance and Caller Service operations will also relocate back to 2130 E. Mariposa. Bulk Business Mail acceptance hours are Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and Caller Service operates Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The Postal Service does not receive tax dollars for its operations or facilities, but covers costs solely through the revenue received from the sale of its products and services
