MONTAGUE, CA — Now when customers shop for groceries or stop to gas up, they can now add some U.S. Postal Service products and services to their grocery list and fill up with postage at the Mayten Store in Montague, CA.
On Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at 11:15 a.m., customers will be treated to a grand opening ceremony by the store owners, Steve and Sherri Rock, and Postal Service officials as the Mayten Store, 7126 Hwy A-12, Montague, CA 96064, becomes a Village Post Office (VPO).
Mayten Store makes a perfect partner with the Postal Service by being able to provide USPS products and services to customers where they conveniently shop for groceries and fill up with gas.
Customers are able to purchase Forever Stamps, drop off prepaid mail and packages and pick up Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes and envelopes. The convenience for customers is that many VPOs offer expanded business hours, including Sundays and holidays.
VPOs are located within existing communities in a variety of locations, including convenience stores, local businesses and libraries, and are operated by the management of those locations.
Montague Postmaster Jason Pope and Post Office Operations Manager Tina Hopkins will join store owners Steve and Sherri Rock in welcoming the first customers as part of a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
