Background:

The U.S. Postal Service has opened a new 2,000 square-foot Mega Passport Office at the Castaic Branch Post Office, located at 28201 Franklin Parkway in Santa Clarita. This new unit has additional staffing and expanded hours to make it easy and convenient for customers to apply for a U.S. passport.    

There is no appointment required! Walk-in hours at the Castaic Mega Passport Office are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is closed on Sunday and Monday.

The Postal Service has the products and services needed to submit a new passport application. Services for a fee at this new Mega Passport Office include passport photos taken onsite, passport application acceptance and photocopy service. Expedited processing is also available, including Priority Mail Express delivery of the passport, with tracking and insurance.  

The U.S. Department of State issued 13.5 million passports and passport cards last year. It’s best to apply for your passport early, at least several months before a planned trip.
