SAN JOSE, CA — Because of the extreme need for city carrier assistants for the San Jose Post Office, a workshop is being conducted to help prospective applicants with the hiring process. U.S. Postal Service hiring personnel will hold the workshop on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, at the San Jose Processing and Distribution Center, 1750 Lundy Avenue, San Jose, CA  95101. The job openings are for City Carrier Assistants to work in any of the 12 San Jose city Post Office branches.

Applicants will be shown how to navigate the online application process at www.usps.com/employment.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma. Applicants must be able to pass drug screening, criminal background and any other applicable Postal Service test.

“The Postal Service is a great place to work,” said Florencia Aceituno, the Bay-Valley District Human Resources Manager. “This is a tremendous opportunity to experience a job that is very challenging and rewarding.”

Entry to the facility parking lot is through the employee entrance on Hostetter Street. There is a buzzer at the parking gate. Someone will open the gate when buzzed. After parking, approach the Employee Entrance and wait to be escorted into the building.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
