WATSONVILLE, CA — Now, when customers come for accounting services at Moore’s Accounting in Watsonville, they can get more accountable services with the United States Postal Service when it becomes a Village Post Office (VPO) on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, in a 1:30 p.m. grand opening ceremony.
Postal Service officials will join business owner Richard Moore at Moore’s Accounting, 30 Alexander St, Watsonville, CA 95076, to celebrate the occasion.
Moore’s Accounting has been in business more than 20 years. When Moore learned about the Village Post Office concept, he felt it would be a perfect fit for his business and his customers. “This will help the community be connected to the people of Watsonville,” said Moore. “I will also help promote other businesses in the community. My goal is to treat everybody like family.”
Customers are able to purchase Forever Stamps, drop off prepaid mail and packages and pick up Priority Mail Flat Rate Boxes and envelopes. A valued convenience for customers is that many VPOs offer expanded business hours. Moore’s Accounting is open six days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Village Post Offices are part of the Postal Service’s “Approved Postal Provider” network — retail outlets for Postal Service products and services that include Contract Postal Units, Approved Shippers, stamps on consignment locations and Community Post Offices.
Approved Postal Providers are operated by third parties and complement the Postal Service’s own network by offering customers expanded retail access to Postal Service products and services at convenient hours and locations.
