YORKVILLE, CA — On Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at 1:00 PM, Laine Coolidge will follow a tradition that dates back to 1868 when John M. McAbee became the first Postmaster of Yorkville. Coolidge will raise his right hand to be sworn in as the new Postmaster at the Yorkville Post Office 25400 Hwy 128, Yorkville, CA 95494.
Coolidge started his career with the United States Postal Service in 2012 as a Postmaster Relief in the Dakota District in North Dakota. Coolidge transferred to the San Francisco District where he later was selected as the Yorkville Postmaster.
“It is an honor to continue the postmaster tradition in a more complex and competitive environment that exists today,” said Coolidge. “My goal is to provide a Post Office the community has confidence in and one that they can be proud of.”
Coolidge lives in Cloverdale, CA and has a son, Jared, 31.
As Postmaster, Coolidge manages all operations at the Yorkville Post Office that has one rural route with 377 delivery points (residential business addresses) and 265 PO Boxes. He manages two employees who process and deliver an average of 1,000 pieces of mail daily.
Bobbi Riley, Manager of Post Office Operations, will administer the official oath of office. Coolidge replaces Deann M. Williams, who was promoted to Upper Lake Post Office.
