ST. HELENA, CA — To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the St. Helena Post Office, Postmaster Lisa Hicks will treat customers to cake and coffee on Saturday, April 16, in the lobby prior to opening for retail service at the Saint Helena Post Office, 1461 Main Street, St. Helena, CA 94574.
Two birthdays will be celebrated that morning when Beclee Wilson, a well-known customer, also celebrating her 75th birthday, will help blow out the candles.
The St. Helena Post Office was commissioned as part of a Works Project Administration (WPA) in 1940 and was opened in 1941. The Post Office has a WPA mural that was commissioned and completed in 1941.
