WEST POINT, CA — On Friday, May 13, 2016, Angie Link will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Link will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new West Point Postmaster at a 1:00 p.m. ceremony at the West Point Post Office, 397 Main St., West Point, CA 95255. Post Office Operations Manager Sal Cardinal will administer the official oath of office.

Link began her U.S. Postal Service career in 1999 as part-time flexible employee in San Andreas, CA. In 2009, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Glencoe, CA.

“I feel blessed and honored to be able to represent the Postal Service in this way,” Link said. “To be able to be the Postmaster of the community in which I’ve lived for over 32 years is very gratifying. I want to follow in the footsteps of the postmasters before me and serve this great community to the best of my ability.”

As West Point Postmaster, Link supervises eight employees and oversees nearly 1,100 rural and Post Office box deliveries.

Link has two sons, Jared and Kenny, and three grandchildren. Link is in her third year as president of the West Point VFW Auxiliary and is a committee member of the West Point Boosters Club. She enjoys gardening, quilting and spending time with her grandchildren.
