Talisyn Hodson to be Sworn in as Chico Postmaster

CHICO, CA — On Tuesday, August 2, 2016, Talisyn Hodson will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Hodson will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Chico Postmaster at an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at the Chico Post Office, 550 Vallombrosa Ave., Chico, CA 95926. Post Office Operations Manager Cheri Smith will administer the official oath of office.

Hodson began her U.S. Postal Service career in 1994 as part-time flexible carrier in Susanville, CA. In 2001, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Paradise, CA.

“I am very proud to be Postmaster in Chico,” Hodson said. “It feels amazing to represent the Postal Service in this way. I work for a great company and along with my new staff; we will continue to provide world-class customer service to the residents in Chico.”

Hodson enjoys traveling, watching movies, listening to music and reading. She is married to Ken Hodson. She has two children, a son Casey Jones and a daughter, Natalie Porter.

As Chico Postmaster, Hodson oversees 50,889 city and rural daily mail deliveries and 3,845 pieces of mail delivered to Post Office boxes. She manages 139 employees which deliver to 140 square miles of territory.
