BAYSIDE, CA — On Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at 11:30 a.m., Jill Lang will follow a tradition that dates back to 1957 when Muriel A. Graham became the first Postmaster of Bayside.  Lang will raise her right hand to be sworn in as the new Postmaster at the Bayside Post Office, 2297 Jacoby Creek Road, Bayside, CA 95524.

Lang started her career with the United States Postal Service in 2007 as a letter carrier at Eureka Post Office.  She worked as customer service supervisor at Fortuna and Arcata Post Offices.  She served as officer-in-charge at Arcata and Bayside Post Offices prior to her promotion as Bayside Postmaster.

“Delivering our brand means delivering on the promise of exceptional customer service,” said Lang. “It also means providing a clean, safe community Post Office for my employees and Bayside residents.”

Lang, and her husband, Robert, live in Samoa, CA.

She enjoys going to the beach, taking her dog for walks, cooking, gardening and growing edible mushrooms.

As Postmaster, Lang manages all operations at the Bayside Post Office that has a rural route and 720 Post Office Boxes.  She manages two employees.

Bobbi Riley, Manager Post Office Operations, will administer the official oath of office.  Lang replaces Paula M. O'Shaughnessy, who is now the Ferndale Postmaster.
