Curtis Lin takes Oath of Office as Brisbane Postmaster

BRISBANE, CA — On Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 12:00 PM, Curtis Lin will follow a tradition that dates back to 1931 when Paul E. Munday was the first Brisbane Postmaster. Lin will raise his right hand to be sworn in as the new Brisbane Postmaster at the Brisbane Main Post Office, 280 Old County Rd., Brisbane, CA 94005.

Lin started his postal career in 1987 as a letter sorting machine operator and became a mailing requirements clerk in 1998. He started his management career path in 2005 when he enrolled and graduated from the Associate Supervisor Program. He held supervisory positions at Steiner, Federal, Fox, Golden Gate and Clayton stations and as manager of Gateway, Chinatown and North Beach stations in San Francisco.

Lin was the Postmaster of Millbrae prior to being promoted to Postmaster of Brisbane.

“As a Postmaster, I want to provide all my employees support and encouragement to do the best job possible,” said Lin. “Being a Postmaster comes with great responsibility to give the community reliable, consistent and superior customer service.”

Lin, 48, and his wife, Pearl, and two children, Darren, 21, Kaitlyn, 16, reside in San Francisco. Lin enjoys computers and financial investments, and he often donates to Goodwill and the San Francisco Blood Center. He has a major in finance and a minor in accounting from San Francisco State University.

As Postmaster, Lin manages all postal operations for the city of Brisbane that has four city routes with 2,374 delivery points (residential business addresses) and 470 PO Boxes.  He manages nine employees who process and deliver an average of 13,271 pieces of mail daily.

Ravi Bainiwal, Manager of Post Office Operations, will administer the official oath of office.
