PACIFICA, CA — On Friday, September 23, 2016, at 12:00 PM, Beth Dayao will follow a tradition of many Postmasters before her as she raises her right hand to be sworn in as Postmaster at the Pacifica Post Office, 50 W. Manor Drive, Pacifica, CA 94044.
Dayao started her career with the United States Postal Service in 1984 as a letter sorting machine clerk. She progressively found other opportunities as she worked towards her goal of becoming a Postmaster. In 2005, she graduated from the Associate Supervisors Program and began serving in numerous managerial positions. She was an operational support specialist, a supervisor at the Menlo Park, Sunnyvale, Mt. View and Los Altos post offices, and the officer-in-charge at the Brisbane Post Office.
Dayao resides in Daly City. She enjoys cooking and watching sports with her family, especially football.
“It is an overwhelming feeling to be chosen as the Postmaster,” said Dayao. “I always believed if you work hard it will pay off, and it did. To serve as the Postmaster of a community like Pacifica is truly rewarding.”
As Postmaster, Dayao manages all operations at the Pacifica Post Office that has 31 routes, 15,128 deliveries and 1,100 PO Boxes. She manages 58 employees who process and deliver an average of 311,868 pieces of mail daily.
