Postal Service to Hire 35,000 to 40,000 Holiday Workers

LOS ANGELES, CA — The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) plans to hire between 35,000 to 40,000 seasonal workers nationwide this holiday season. There are job openings at locations throughout Southern California, with available positions including drivers, letter carriers, mail handlers, and mail processing clerks.

Postal Service temporary and seasonal employees have opportunities for permanent work and a path to becoming career employees. The online application process is easy by going to www.usps.com and clicking on “USPS Jobs - Careers” at the bottom left of the home page. (Or go directly to www.usps.com/careers.)  

From the Careers page, select “Search Now,” then select “California” as locationand hit “Start.” Current job postings with locations and requirements will appear. Job seekers should check back weekly for new job postings.

Interested persons can also text “USPSJOBS” to 313131.

Applicants must be 18 years of age, or 16 years of age with a high school diploma. Applicants must be able to pass drug screening, criminal background check and any other applicable Postal Service test or requirement. All applications must be made online.
