RODEO, CA — On Friday, October 14, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., Raj Khahera will follow a tradition that dates back to 1892 when the first Post Office was established in Rodeo. Khahera will raise his right hand to be sworn in as the new Postmaster at the Rodeo City Post Office, 499 Parker Ave., Rodeo, CA 94572.
Khahera started his career with the United States Postal Service in 1991 as a part-time flexible letter carrier at the Moraga Post Office. He later became a regular letter carrier at the Orinda Post Office. After 12 years serving as a union shop steward, safety captain and an on-the-job instructor, he decided to go into management as an acting supervisor at the Orinda, Newark, Lafayette and Alameda Post Offices. In 2007, he graduated from the Associate Supervisor Program and was promoted to the Walnut Creek Post office as a supervisor of customer service.

Service to my community comes from the passion I have for my customers, my employees, and the United States Postal Service.”
As Postmaster, Khahera manages all operations at the Rodeo Post Office that has 18 routes with 12, 674 delivery stops (residential business addresses) and 1,365 PO Boxes. He manages 31 employees who process and deliver an average of 34,800 pieces of mail daily.
