Sylvia Ann Guerra-Garza to be Sworn in as 24th Dunnigan Postmaster

DUNNIGAN, CA – On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, Sylvia Ann Guerra-Garza will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Guerra-Garza will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Dunnigan Postmaster at an 11:00 a.m. ceremony at Dunnigan Post Office, 3650 CR 99W, Dunnigan, CA, 95937. Post Office Operations Manager Brenda Pope will administer the official oath of office.

Guerra-Garza began her U.S. Postal Service career in 1998 as part-time flexible clerk in San Antonio, TX. In 2004, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in San Antonio, TX.

“I am truly honored to be Postmaster in Dunnigan,” Guerra-Garza said. “It feels amazing to represent the Postal Service in this way. I want to best serve my community by providing them with the first-class service they deserve.”

Guerra-Garza enjoys reading, hiking, exercising, travel and home decor. She has seven children: sons Dominick Lozano and Severo Garza Jr. and daughters Aubrey Cofield, Natalie Lozano, Sierra Garza, Sabrina Garza and Sophia Garza.

As Dunnigan Postmaster, Guerra-Garza manages two employees and oversees the mail delivery to 465 Post Office boxes.
