SAN DIEGO — Post Offices in San Diego County will be open Christmas Eve, Saturday, Dec. 24, and New Year’s Eve, Saturday, Dec. 31. Some Post Offices may shorten retail lobby hours on Dec. 24. Regular mail delivery will be unaffected by the change.
Christmas Eve revised hours will be posted in advance at each Post Office making an adjustment. Commercial customers are asked to check with their business mail entry unit for specific information regardfing hoiday hours of operation.
Blue collection boxes having final collection times after 12:00 p.m. may be collected early on Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Therefore, mail should be deposited into all blue collection boxes before 12:00 p.m. for early pickup on these days.
Customers requiring postal services later on these days are encouraged to contact their local Post Office. Customer also may call 1-800-ASK-USPS for additional information.
Because Christmas Day and New Year’s Day fall on Sunday this year, Post Offices will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 and Monday, Jan. 2, the observed federal holidays. Only Priority Mail Express will be delivered on the actual holidays as well as the observed holidays. All Post Offices will be open and regular mail delivery will resume Dec. 27 and Jan. 3.
