Background: |
Through the White House Rural Council and the President’s Made in Rural America Export and Investment Initiative, the U.S. Postal Service is working with other federal agencies to help rural and small businesses access new customers and markets abroad. The initiative was developed as a result of rural forums held to deliver technical assistance, increase participation of rural companies in trade events and establish a rural export team at the U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration. Now, the initiative also includes collaboration with the U.S. Postal Service. At these local Post Office workshops, attendees will learn how to innovate and grow their businesses internationally with Postal Service tools and applications created specifically with small-business owners in mind, find out more about federal export programs and develop business strategies to connect with markets abroad. |
