MONTEREY PARK, CA — Summer is here and it’s passport season! To make it easier and more convenient for the public to apply for a passport, the U.S. Postal Service is hosting a Passport Fair at the Monterey Park Post Office located at 245 W. Garvey Ave. in Monterey Park, CA 91754. The event will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary.

Monterey Park Post Office normally accepts passport applications Monday through Saturday.  This Saturday is a special one-day, walk-in Passport Fair and there will be extra staff on hand to process all applicants present. This service will enable the staff to process each application faster and will even take applicants’ passport photos for an additional $15 fee.

Applicants must appear in person with proof of U.S. citizenship (certified government birth certificate or original naturalization paper) and proof of identity (valid CA driver’s license or identification card). Minors 15 years old and under must have both parents present; minors 16 and 17 years old must have at least one parent present.

Additional information and passport application forms can be found at travel.state.gov/passport.  Passport information may also be obtained by phone, in English or Spanish, by calling the National Passport Information Center toll-free at 1-877-487-2778.
