COLFAX, CA – On Monday, September 11, 2017, Kathleen Jacques will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.
Jacques will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Colfax Postmaster at a 1:00 p.m. ceremony at Colfax Post Office, 40 W. Church Street, Colfax, CA 95713. Post Office Operations Manager Cheri Valdivia will administer the official oath of office.
Jacques began her U.S. Postal Service career in 1990 as part-time flexible clerk in Georgetown, CA. In 2001, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Lotus, CA.
“I am truly honored to be Postmaster in Colfax,” Jacques said. “I want to ensure the quality and continuity of the U.S. Postal Service today and into the future.”
Jacques enjoys spending time kayaking, camping, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She is married to Tom Jacques. They have three children, Michaela, Jared and Robert.
As Colfax Postmaster, Jacques oversees over 3,000 rural daily mail deliveries and over 1,600 pieces of mail delivered to Post Office boxes. She manages 10 employees.
