Nirmaljit “Goldie” Hans to be sworn in as Biola Postmaster

BIOLA, CA — On Friday, October 27, 2017, Nirmaljit “Goldie” Hans will follow a proud tradition dating back when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Hans will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Biola Postmaster at a 12:00 p.m. ceremony at Biola Community Center, 4925 N. 7th Ave., Biola, CA 93606. Post Office Operations Manager Kimi Lonjin will administer the official oath of office.

Hans began her U.S. Postal Service career in 1998 as a letter carrier in Salinas, CA.  In 2007, she began her management career supervising carriers and clerks in Fresno, CA.

“Becoming Postmaster in the Biola community is an honor and a privilege,” Hans said. “I look forward to building and maintaining community partnerships with a commitment to excellence. I will work wholeheartedly to improve customer service and do all I can to help our local businesses grow.”

Hans enjoys stitching, knitting, cooking and gardening. She is married to Bhupinder Singh Hans. They have two children, daughter, Gurleen Kaur Hans and son, Abhjyot Singh Hans.

As Biola Postmaster, Hans oversees nearly 1,000 pieces of mail delivered daily to Post Office boxes. She manages two employees.
