Background: |
A Chino letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service swung into action and his bravery prevented a horrific tragedy from occurring. Returning to his vehicle after delivering to a senior living complex, Letter Carrier Antonio Colon heard cries of rape in both Spanish and English. Colon immediately ran towards the sound and saw an open door. When Colon arrived at the woman’s apartment, he yelled at the man, ordered him away from the woman and told him to sit in the corner until the police arrived. Colon’s heroic act saved this patron from becoming a victim of an even more serious violent sexual assault than what she was already experiencing. The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations. |
